Michael McLamb, Chair
Michael was elected Chair at the April 2023 County Convention and has led the party during a critical time, which saw increased turnout, growth in donations, in volunteers, and in Democrats running for local office. He is passionate about electing Democrats and increasing civic engagement. In 2025 Michael was elected by fellow County Chairs as the Chair of the Western Region for the NCDP Chairs Association. He has been appointed by NCDP Chair Anderson Clayton to the State Finance Committee, and he is a member of the South Regional Finance Committee for the Democratic National Committee. Michael is a graduate of Western Carolina University where he now serves on the Board of the College of Business. He lives in Hickory and serves on the Hickory Public Art Commission, the Hickory Library Advisory Board, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Hickory.
Kimberly Turk, 1st Vice Chair
Kimberly Turk has been involved in with Catawba County Democrats for several years. She has been an educator for over twenty five years. She feels committed to giving back to North Carolina for the wonderful educational opportunities provided for her while growing up here. Although she has spent most of her career as an educator she is still a scientist in her heart. Her love of biology and investigating through experimenting and research has never dimmed.
Aubrey Gregory, 2nd Vice Chair
Aubrey Gregory is new to being involved with CCDP but she is not new to jumping in and making things happen – she has spearheaded numerous outreach activities and always adds elements to help people get involved while having fun. She came to CCDP’s attention with her community outreach to counter the, shall we say, book-banning proclivities of the Catawba County School Board. She is a natural organizer and adept at bringing people together for service activities and fun.
Rebecca Alt, 3rd Vice Chair
Rebecca Alt previously served as the CCDP secretary and is truly a team player. She has contributed in numerous areas to help the party, notably using her communications experience and expertise. A professor of Communication Studies at Lenoir-Rhyne University, Alt is originally from rural Pennsylvania and cites her grandmother as her role model for Democratic Party activism.
Devin Osborne, Secretary
Devin Osborne is new to CCDP, but not new to the community. Osborne is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Community Health; he will receive his Master of Public Health in August 2025. During his academic career, he gained leadership experience through his involvement in the Student Government Association, where he served as the Campus Outreach Officer, and through Theta Xi Fraternity where he held the positions of Treasurer, Vice President, and President. In his professional career, Osborne is a Certified Health Education Specialist.
Lora Cady, Treasurer
Lora Cady has been a proud Democrat since watching the 1996 Democratic National Convention, where the party’s message of inclusiveness, compassion, and community left a lasting impression. She is the mother of an 18-year-old son, Alex, who will be attending NC State this fall. Now in her second career as a paralegal, Lora focuses on adoptions, estate planning, and estate administration—helping families navigate life’s biggest transitions with dignity and clarity. She is passionate about building a future where every family has the support they need and every person is treated with respect.
Melanie Mora, Summer Intern
Melanie is an intern with the Catawba County Democratic Party and a recent graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University, where they earned a degree in International Business and Marketing with a minor in Economics.
