From the Chair - June 2023

Thank you to everyone who came to Donkey Day 2023 at Catawba Farms. It was great to get together with other good Democrats here in Catawba County. The conversation was encouraging, guest speakers were inspiring, music was lively, food was delicious, and activities were engaging, and Democrats were connecting.

Also thank you our meeting on May 23, it was great to see several new faces! At the meeting, with consideration from our County Executive Committee, CCDP renominated Barry Cheney, Felicia Culbreath-Setzer and Jason White to the Catawba County Board of Elections. We thank them for their continued service and commitment to efficiently conducting fair, honest, and impartial elections.

There is a lot of work, and much opportunity, ahead of us to elect Democrats in Catawba County in 2023. 31 seats are on the ballot this year for municipalities and school boards across the county. With coordinated efforts from our leadership team, committees, donors, and volunteers, we can make progress this November. CCDP is eager for the challenge.

On May 8th several Catawba County Democrats – Doug Auer, Lynn Dorfman, Deborah Hollingsworth Steve Ivester, Gabriel Sherwood, Jody Inglefield, and I – traveled to Morganton for a fundraiser with Josh Stein. We look forward to supporting him in 2024!
